Fire up your favorite news source and you’ll see a lot of chatter about how AI and advanced technology are fundamentally changing the jobs landscape and shifting the nature of our economy and society. It’s no secret that many young adults are feeling apprehensive about the future of their careers.  At the same time, you’ll read about the growing disenchantment with the university experience, with a staggering $1.7 trillion in student debt burdening graduates. Furthermore, the alarming drop-out rate of 50% reflects a dissatisfaction with the current system. Graduates are finding themselves underemployed, lacking the skills necessary to succeed in the job market.

Thankfully, you’ll also notice a growing number of reports on the significant resurgence of skills-based education and the nearly ten million open jobs not requiring a four-year degree. According to the National Student Clearinghouse, the number of enrollments in technical/vocation schools and community colleges rose 16% in 2023 and is expected to continue to grow over the next five years.

With a focus on practical, hands-on learning, skills-based programs equip individuals with the specific knowledge and abilities that employers are actively seeking. Unlike traditional universities, these programs are designed to give students the tools they need to hit the ground running in their chosen field.

Better yet, the jobs that require human expertise and skills are not going away soon. Despite the advancements in technology, certain crucial tasks still require the touch and intelligence of talented individuals. Imagine having your home wired professionally, ensuring maximum safety and efficiency. Picture a skilled technician rebuilding a jet engine with precision and expertise, ensuring the safety of countless passengers. Envision a competent and empathetic healthcare professional drawing your blood, providing accurate diagnoses and personalized care. Visualize a dedicated therapist rehabilitating your injured back, helping you regain strength and mobility.

That's why we offer scholarships to assist individuals who are passionate about their chosen field but struggle to afford tuition, tools, or materials.
